-BACKSTORY-

"Wondrous American troubadour who commands attention with his folk storytelling and enchanting songwriting. The shared experience of listening to this set is one of the sublime moments of this weekend."  -David Chinery (Rock Regeneration) U.K.

Born alongside the Mississippi River and raised in the Ozark Mountains of southeast Missouri, songwriter, storyteller and devoted rambler The Wanderbird sips from a deep well of Country, Folk, Gospel & Rural Blues while taking listeners on a journey through the backwaters and blue collars of the people and places he's been. Leaving the hills & hollers of his beloved Ozark Mountains behind in his late-teens, Jay spent over 15 years wandering among the underground of American society, hoboing from town to town, collecting story's & woodshedding songs, while playing dive bars and working a litany of odd-jobs to support himself. In the fall of 2015, Jay completed his first overseas tour and has since been featured on Festival & Venue stages throughout Canada, the U.K. & Europe.

“It’s hard to forget Jay’s voice. A mix of guttural and commanding sincerity. Fiery, warm, pained, powerful, gritty and embracing” -Brian Tucker (Star-News) N.C.
