Palla Records was created by Otto McCarthy and The Wanderbird after a wide-ranging discussion about the effects of A.I. music, while driving from show to show in the vasteness of the western U.S. during Jason's fall 2025 tour. The singluar determination between the two was it may create a new type of music listener. Folks who will crave live, lo-fi and d.i.y. music, in lieu of the quantized, soulless creations bludgeoning their ears these days. If nothing else, we as artists could, and perhaps should, flood the world with as much real, human made music as possible. Properly released and protected of course, in hope of making fake bands and tech-lord tunes unimportant or unapproachable in their sterility. And so Palla Records was born as an outlet to release the immense backlog of unreleased songs carried in The Wanderbird's back pocket for decades. Our releases are recorded in various ways, in various spaces, with one common thread. No A.I. No Quantization and No Care for the algorithm. Call them demo's, scratch-tracks or work tapes.
